In the opening game of the group stage, the Morocco U23 team, known as the Atlas Lions, will face Argentina on July 24th in Saint-Etienne. As part of Group B, the national U23 team will then play against Ukraine on July 27th and Iraq on July 30th.

The Atlas Lions secured their qualification for the Paris Olympics by defeating Mali in the semi-finals of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN U23) in a penalty shootout on July 4, 2023, at the Moulay Abdellah Complex in Rabat. They then won the tournament for the first time by beating Egypt (2-1).
On the other hand, the women's football team did not qualify for the Olympic competition. The Lionesses missed out on qualification after losing to the Zambian team (2-0) on April 9th at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat.
